While on our shoots, we’ve had the opportunity to work with numerous talented vendors within and beyond the Chicagoland area. Here are a few that we’ve had a great experience with and would like to share:
We worked with Matt Buckman of idofilms in 2008 and were impressed by his cinematic approach. Like us, he shoots in a documentary style. Most of his packages include reels of Super 8mm film for exclusive wedding documentary films with an authentic vintage flair
We worked with Ben Mahoney Productions on more than one occasion and had an awesome time collaborating on each shoot. This boutique production house utilizes their unique eye for cutting edge, non-cookie cutter videos. They are enthusiastic, easy to work with, and are unobtrusive in their approach.
We worked with Sonia Roselli and Livia Caporale last year–and, wow, do these gals have serious skills! From beginning to end, the bride looked flawless–not overdone, but definitive enough to keep the bride fresh and beautiful even after hitting the dance floor.
Liz Meyer, owner of Silver Moon Vintage offers vintage inspired bridal collections along with original vintage gowns. She also carries unique accessories including beaded snap evening bags and birdcage veils. Very chic.
This mother-daughter team specializes in the alterations of designer and vintage gowns. Conveniently located in the Water Place Tower, the boutique is trusted with the most luxurious, couture-designs such as Vera Wang and other elegant collections. Stay tuned for their sister site, Dress Nurse.
James Ciccotti offers some of the most beautiful and comfortable wedding shoes (ever). It isn’t common to hear beautiful and comfortable in the same sentence when it comes to shoes. These designs pass the test as brides all rave about how they were able to wear their heels all night. And what’s even more fabulous about these shoes other than comfort, is that the satin designs can be dyed later and you can wear them after the wedding. How fabulous is that.
Ani Afshar’s slogan is Jewelry that Bridges the Generation. Her designs are inspired by a variety of ethnographic textiles and cultures. You may have seen some of her collections sold exclusively at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, Bloomingdales, Anthropology, and Neiman Marcus. Ani Afshar also designs custom jewelry for brides and bridesmaids. After getting a feel for your personality, style, and wedding elements, she can piece together a design that is as unique as you.
Smitten Boutique & Magnificent Milestones
The boutique offers a variety of wedding accessories, custom invitations including Kate Spade, Dauphine Press, and Vera Wang. Kirstin Martin (owner of Smitten Boutique) and Kara Underwood (owner/consultant) offer event planning services through Magnificent Milestones. Their event consultation services range from the DIY to the “I want to enjoy every moment of my wedding and not worry about a thing’ kind of bride.
We’ve worked with Rachel and Kate of Toasts & Jam on multiple occasions and know by now that they will without a doubt have people on the dance floor until last call. They are a lot of fun to work with and promise no lights or disco balls. Just sweet jams and nothing stale.
We’ve also worked with Style Matters DJs on many occasions and enjoy these urban music enthusiasts. They appeal to the modern bride looking to show their friends and family an incredible time on their wedding day.
The showroom of Indocara boasts an eclectic design mirrored after Mediterranean Revival Style Architecture has been been preserved and complimented by its modern textiles and furniture. Indocara offers authentic furnishings with inspirational designs from India, Indonesia and Thailand. What we like most about her furnishings is that each piece has its own character and history. We couldn’t be happier with the pieces we have in our studio and our past clients have raved about their furnishings from Indocara as well.
Kate Rudigier (L.Ac, MSTOM, Dip. Ch, Dipl. Ac) is board certified in Chinese Herbology and Acupuncture. We recommend this patient-focused practice to brides looking to de-stress before their wedding day through massage, acupuncture, herbal supplements and other treatments.
