MATTHEW & LAUREN | E-SESSION

We met Matthew and Lauren at the Paul Douglas Forest Preserve for their e-session just before all of the leaves completely disappeared from the trees and the weather took a drastic turn. They are getting married in early spring next year and wanted to incorporate the fall colors into their engagement shoot. They were referred to us by our colleague, Ben Mahoney of BMP Productions so we knew that they would be a lot of fun to work with.

Since they are both big fans of Halloween (and fall in general), we threw in a couple of props for one of the shots.

Here are a few of our favorite images from the shoot:

We took a little walk on the trail within the preserve in between…

Thanks again Matthew and Lauren for such a fun shoot! Looking forward to your wedding next year! It’s right around the corner!

OUR E-SESSION WITH BRANDY J PHOTOGRAPHY

We had the absolute pleasure of having the talented Brandy and Sticky Rammel of Brandy J Photography do an e-session (or should we say, lifestyle portraits) for us. One day, Scott and I were talking about how we didn’t really have any pics of us other than those that friends or family members took of us at parties or random outings. We really wanted a lifestyle session and thought it would be fun to do an ‘e-session’ with another husband-wife team. So we instantly thought of Brandy J.

This amazing couple creates stylish yet editorial images that can make anyone look fabulous. I was initially a little nervous about being in front of the camera (which is pretty ironic). But once we started chatting with Brandy and Sticky, Scott and I both felt completely at ease.

We can’t wait to hang out with these guys again!

Thank you both again for these beautiful pics! We’ll hang out again soon!

BONNIE & JIM | E-SESSION

Bonnie and Jim are very close friends of one of our past couples and liked our approach to documenting weddings after seeing us in action. They are getting married at Prairie House Productions in the West Loop. This space is a photographer’s dream between the tall ceilings and generous windows.

Jim proposed to Bonnie by the Albert Caldwell Lily Pond in Lincoln Park so we had initially planned to photograph them there. However, the area was closed last minute for repairs. You never know what nature (or site management) will throw your way so always have ideas on the back burner just in case. It was absolutely beautiful outside so we decided to take a walk around the LP area.
