19East<\/a>, a Chicago South Loop venue (managed entirely by\u00a0Food for Thought<\/a>) hosted an event that took its\u00a0guests\u00a0on a \u201cJourney Through Time.\u201d Not only did they engage their\u00a0guests\u00a0with thoughtful culinary options but they also dazzled them with visual intrigue and education by translating the venue\u2019s story into time periods that correspond to the historical functionality of the space. From a power plant and warehouse, to a shooting range once occupied by Al Capone to tire manufacturing,\u00a0guests\u00a0were taken down memory lane to fully understand the venue\u2019s history and how they\u00a0can\u00a0produce a corporate and social\u00a0events\u00a0at this year-round site.<\/p>\n

Brand Activation<\/strong><\/p>\n

Instead of a classic step and repeat with vendor logos, 19East took a different approach by alternating sponsor branding between hub caps as nod to the venue\u2019s former life as tire factory. Boxwood designs by Exquisite Designs beautifully bookend the selfie station where\u00a0guests\u00a0snapped photos and tag a designated hashtag. Creative display and incorporation of sponsors in a compelling\u00a0way\u00a0shares a story by directly engaging\u00a0guests\u00a0and their social media followers.<\/p>\n

Event within an Event<\/strong><\/p>\n

To create a social media buzz or simply to offer intrigue and interest, having an \u201cevent within an event\u201d is clever\u00a0way\u00a0to engage\u00a0guests. Take for example, this \u201cArt in Progress\u201d installation. As\u00a0guests\u00a0entered the event, they were presented with blank canvases that would later be transformed in real time by Food for Thought\u2019s chef, Jason White. One of the desserts incorporated into a delicious ombre was a Black Sesame Exotic Fruit Parfait.<\/p>\n

Consideration<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n

Vegan and non-alcoholic options are often an afterthought at events.
