No one wants a lonely dance floor at their wedding reception. To keep the momentum, you’re going to need the right entertainment. We’ve tapped Ken Arlen and Lloyd Snyder of Arlen Music Productions for their advice how to ensure that guests to have the time of their lives. Here are five tips to setting the flow of your celebration with music.
1.) Clients, Work closely with your bandleader to integrate music into every aspect of the evening. Music will enhance every moment from when the doors open to the end of the night. Don’t underestimate the importance of the door opening music and how it sets the tone for the entire evening. Same with the dinner music and how you integrate music with all elements including toasts and speeches.
2.) Bandleaders, Listen to your clients’ story.
– Learning that special song from a family memory or college years makes a huge, memorable impact on the dancefloor.
3.) Clients: Trust that your bandleader is an expert and knows from experience what will motivate your crowd. Don’t try to program the evening but make sure your special requests are communicated.
4.) Bandleaders: Play to the environment. Song selection + appropriate volume level = success. Don’t rock out during dinner music. Do rock out when the dancefloor is full!
5.) Clients: Enjoy every moment of your wedding experience. One thank you speech is better than trying to visit with every guest at the table or by the bar. If you are out on the dance floor having fun that will set the tone for all of your guests! Time really does fly by so savor every moment of fun!!
