One of our favorite parts of photographing weddings is the opportunity to capture so many rituals and cultural traditions. Two people often from completely different backgrounds join together with family and friends. And it is an experience for children to learn and pass traditions along to the next generation.
When possible, share the details of rituals and traditions with your photography and videography team to ensure that they anticipate and understand how things will unfold. The featured photo is from a Peruvian tradition called the “ring pull” that involves the wedding cake, where 12 ribbons are placed in the confection with one attached to a ring. Whichever woman pulls the ribbon with the ring is said to be the next to marry. And how gorgeous this cake by Cake Sweet Food!
