Three Bachelorette Weekend Ideas That Don’t Involve Vegas

Mar 9, 2021 | Tips

Although movies that show over-the-top pre-wedding ragers are entertaining, not every bride wants that experience for her bachelorette party. But that doesn’t mean it has to be a snoozefest either. Even though you may not be celebrating in Vegas, that doesn’t mean you cannot have an epic and memorable celebration in style. We’ve curated a few alternative bachelorette party ideas to suit different styles, seasons and budgets.

1.) Savannah, Georgia

It’s no wonder that one of the oldest cities in America is a popular hotspot for bachelorette parties. Savannah, Georgia checks all of the boxes from its Southern charm, original architecture, comfort food, bar roaming on River Street to sunning on Tybee Island beaches.  And there’s no shortage of boutique hotels or Airbnbs to accommodate your bachelorette bash.

Wanna take the guess work out of planning your party? The Confetti Experience Co. saves you time and research by offering custom and convenient experiences for bachelorette groups along with custom bachelorette goodies delivered straight to your hotel or Airbnb.  They also offer a luxurious outdoor picnics so you can celebrate safely with your girls without sacrificing the fun!  Be sure to check them out on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/confetticratesav/

2.) Chicago, IL (Summer or Winter)

From its food scene to the beautiful lakefront, there is so much to do in the Windy City depending on the weather.

If you are fortunate enough to get schedules to coincide during the summer, know that Chicago celebrates  warm weather like no other city. For the adventurous group, you can book a kayaking tour along the Chicago Riverfront and stop for a bite at The Northman. For a more spirited morning, book a private yacht to coast around Lake Michigan and view the skyline.

Book a photographer (ahem—we do offer packages) for a one hour shoot either before you go on an excursion or before you go do dinner).

At night, check out Fulton Market where there is no shortage of options from Rooftop at Nobu Hotel ChicagoAu Cheval (upscale diner-esque deliciousness) to post-party scoops at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams or our personal favorite, the BOMBA Bar for bombas + coffee. Finish the weekend off with an epic brunch at Summer House Santa Monica.

Just because it’s cold, doesn’t mean you can enjoy the elements in Chicago and beyond. Don’t want to head to Aspen but want to hit the slopes? If you live in Chicago and want to find something closer than Colorado, consider Chestnut Mountain Resort. About three hours west of Chicago, the resort sits on the bluff offering breathtaking views of the Mississippi River. With a 475-foot vertical drop that runs 3,500 feet through 19 slopes, there are options based upon everyone’s skill level ranging from beginning to black diamond.  And RacySuits have really fun, “winter bright” suits that will have you and your girls Insta Ready.

3.) Cabo San Jose

Cabo may have been known as a rowdy spring break spot or a destination for Californian ex-pats to retire. When you say “Los Cabos,” lots of people immediately think of the Marina and Cabo Wabo. And no shame, if that’s your game. After careful research, we have found that there are plenty of elevated, cultural experiences in Baja California from unmatched organic, farm-to-table restaurants to the historic downtown San Jose to the breathtaking views of the Sea of Cortez. Plenty of out of the ordinary experiences are waiting to be had in historic San Jose and beyond that can keep everyone in your group entertained.

Spend a couple nights at the Viceroy Los Cabos and enjoying their gorgeous private beach with views of the Sea of Cortez. Enjoy the views and impeccable menu at CieloMar Rooftop. To read more about their COVID Safety measures, visit their website for their promise of cleanliness.

Head to FLORA FARMS for brunch

At this point, Flora Farms needs no introduction. It is a perfect place to enjoy brunch on their 25-acre organic farm in the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains. The farm features Flora’s Field Kitchen; a grocery store, Flora Farm Grocery; a bar, Flora’a Farm Bar; assorted shops; and 10 Culinary Cottages – handcrafted straw bale cottages – where people live. Reservations book up fast (for good reason) and you’ll want to book a tour 30 minutes before dinner if you’ve never been. And they offer a Pelo del Perro bar (“hair of the dog” aka bloody mary bar : ).

After brunch, take a very short Uber ride to Acre Baja which is in the foothills of San Jose del Cabo. It is another must try if you are in San Jose. The property is absolutely magical with roaming peacocks, rescue puppies and adorable donkeys. Beyond the jungle treehouses, there is a a world-class, open air restaurant featuring organic farm-to-table experiences, unforgettable dishes and unique cocktail compositions.  Note: if you plan to stay in their jungle treehouses, take advantage of their morning yoga, free continental breakfast and spend some time sunning in at the pool earlier in the day.  They have weddings on the weekends so the pool closes promptly at 2:30pm. But that gives you plenty of time to transition for the evening.

Wherever you choose or however you decide to celebrate, the real magic is in getting everyone together and safely celebrating this milestone with those closest to you. We hope these details inspire your upcoming celebration!
